Platte-A-Palooza Celebrates River Fun

The community river festival brings all the excitement to Wyoming

The year’s Platte-A-Palooza is a free, all-day festival that will take place on June 25 near Casper’s Whitewater Park and The Platte River Parkway. The Casper, Wyo. community river celebration will also be held in addition to the 8th Annual Whitewater Kayak Rodeo, which includes various kayaking competitions and river races.

A number of festivities celebrating music, beer and barbeque will combine to make Platte-A-Palooza a great event for everyone in the family. Local bands will provide entertainment while several local businesses will be grilling for attendees. Both team and individual races will be held for the Platte-A-Thon, a three-part race along the river that includes a kayak race, run and bike race.

For clients who are not competitive types, there will be plenty of vendor booths set up selling a wide variety of wares. Demonstrations and training on river safety will be available and providing interactive learning for those who are interested in some fun in the water. The Kid Zone will also provide entertainment for children of all ages.
