Clients who love the great outdoors might want to check out the Great Rockies Sportshow, which is coming to Casper, Wyo. this January from Jan. 30-Feb. 1 at the Casper Events Center. The international show, which is open to the public, incorporates a multitude of outdoor sports, including fishing, hunting, boating and RVing. Exhibitors from South Africa, Namibia, New Zealand, Alaska, Canada and the Rocky Mountain West are expected to attend.

“We bring buyers and sellers together under one roof,” said show manager Bill Reier. “By show time, residents are yearning for spring and summer so they come to our shows already in the mood to buy things for their anticipated outdoor adventures. As a result, our exhibitors sell a lot of boats, and RVs in addition to vacations or fishing and hunting gear.”

The show will appeal to a number of clients with enthusiasm for the great outdoors. During the show, attendees can participate in round-the-clock fishing and hunting seminars that cover topics ranging from fly fishing and walleye fishing to big game hunting. There will be fly tying and fly casting demonstrations too. Dutch oven cooking expert and author Colleen Sloan will make daily appearances as well, demonstrating Dutch oven cooking seminars. Children can catch live trout in a 3,000-gallon catch-and-release trout pond as well as participated in daily educational wildlife seminars.

The First Annual Wyoming Big Buck & Bull Contest will also take place during the event, enabling local Wyoming hunters to enter their big game trophy for free scoring by official Boone & Crockett, Pope & Young scorers for their opportunity to win trophies, plaques, ribbons and prizes will be awarded to top entries.

The sport show is produced by Great Rockies Productions, based out of Bozeman, Mont., and is sponsored by the Casper Star-Tribune, KTWO-TV and GapWest Broadcasting.
