The seventh annual Teton Wellness Festival, taking place in Jackson Hole, Wyo., from Oct. 9-11, will feature a keynote address from Cesar Millan, expert dog trainer and host of National Geographic channel’s “Dog Whisperer.” Other keynote speakers include Dr. Mimi Guarneri, founder and director of the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine, and Gary Zukav and Linda Francis, best-selling authors and cofounders of the Seat of the Soul Institute.
The festival, which is being held at the Snow King Resort and the Center for the Arts, attracts clients interested in holistic methods of healing and is hosted by the Teton Wellness Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and promoting well-being of the body, mind, spirit and the environment.
Before Dr. Guarneri’s opening speech on Oct. 9, festival participants can take part in a free community get-together that will include local art, music, heart-healthy appetizers from the Whole Grocer and drinks from Dragon Lady Teas.
Dr. Guarneri will discuss the heart in depth during her keynote address, stressing how important it is for people to tap into the “whole heart” for healing on a number of different levels.
On Oct. 10, Millan will speak at the Center for the Arts, informing attendees about how they inadvertently play a role in their dog’s behavioral issues, emphasizing that they can change this dynamic by learning to view the world from the perspective of their pets.
Zukav and Francis will speak on Oct. 11, discussing how to turn all life experiences into opportunities for spiritual growth in a hands-on workshop titled Living Courageously in Difficult Times.
Participants who purchase a festival pass have access to presentations, a movement class and all exhibits and booths. Exhibits and hands-on hall booths are fee and open to the public. Festival pass tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at TetonWellness.org or by phone at 307-733-9355. Keynote tickets are separate and range in cost from $45 to $125 per person.
