Emirates has announced that, starting Dec. 2, the company will begin its new A380 service between Dubai and Los Angeles, Calif. The introduction of the route will make Los Angeles the 23rd A380 destination in Emirates’ global route network.
“Demand for our award-winning onboard service has steadily grown since we commenced operation to L.A. in 2008, and customers have been requesting our flagship A380 for some time now,” said Orhan Abbas, Emirates’ commercial senior vice president of the Americas. “As Los Angeles is known for its luxury and the Hollywood lifestyle, bringing our A380 into the market was a natural fit as it allows every Emirates passenger a taste of the glamorous life at 35,000 feet.”
Service will operate daily, departing Dubai at 8:20 a.m. and arriving at LAX at 12:50 p.m. (all local times). The return route departs L.A. at 4:00 p.m. and arrives in Dubai at 7:50 p.m. the following day.
The 489-seat Emirates A380 includes 14 private first class suites, 76 lie-flat beds in business class and 399 economy class seats. First class offers two onboard shower spas, while the premium upper deck includes the Onboard Lounge, serving an array of beverages and snacks. All passengers have access to complimentary food and beverages, in-flight Wi-Fi access, cell phone connectivity and an extensive entertainment system.
Emirates currently serves six destinations in the U.S. in addition to Los Angeles: San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, Houston, Washington Dulles and New York JFK.
