For more than 20 years, Foreign Independent Tours has offered an array of escorted group tours and vacations to Africa at an affordable price. And, for a limited time, the tour operator is offering a free excursion to Abu Simbel (a $220 value) on its eight-day tour of Egypt’s pyramids and the Nile River.

Abu Simbel — a set of massive rock temples built by Ramses II — is part of the Nubian Monuments UNESCO World Heritage Site near the Egypt-Sudan border. The larger temple is decorated with four detailed statues of Ramses II, while the smaller one features statues of the king and queen. Abu Simbel is often considered to be among the most beautiful temples in the country.

The eight-day package also includes roundtrip airfare from New York to Cairo, three nights in Cairo, breakfasts in Cairo, a three-night Nile cruise in a junior suite cabin and all meals for the duration of the cruise. Shore excursions, entrance fees and an English-speaking Egyptologist are also included on the tour as well as transfers within Egypt.

With airfare, the package ranges in price from $1,999 to $2,299 per person, based on double occupancy. Pricing is subject to availability at the time of booking and does not include airline taxes and fees.

An air-inclusive 14-day Extended Jordan and Egypt tour is also on sale, starting at $3,099 per person, based on double occupancy. The tour includes a four-night Nile cruise, a jeep safari tour in Wadi Rum, sightseeing by private car and more.
