Air Tahiti Nui celebrated its 15th anniversary on September 24 with the introduction of its newly renovated A340 planes. Improvements include replacement of the airplanes’ three-class design with a two-class layout, creating an enhanced and expanded business class and an improved economy class. Business class’ new “angled-lie-flat cocoon” seating provides passengers with additional space, while the economy class’ lightweight, Italian designed seating allows for a wider 18-inch seat. The $17 million interior redesign also updated the Inflight Entertainment System, which now features touch-screen access to approximately 50 television programs and movies, in addition to games, music and magazines.
Travelers can enjoy the refurbished planes with Air Tahiti Nui’s special “Hidden Islands” vacation promotion. Each of the three offered packages includes roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles to Tahiti. The Huahine or Tikehau Overwater Bungalow package starts at $2,398 per person and offers a five-night stay in a deep overwater bungalow at the Royal Huahine or the Tikehau Pearl Beach Resort. For $2,658 per person, travelers may also choose the Rangiroa Blue Lagoon Special, a six-night stay in a beach bungalow at the Hotel Kia Ora Resort & Spa. Guests may upgrade to an overwater bungalow for an extra $800 per person. The Tahiti & Taha’a Overwater Suite option for $2,998 per guest starts with a two-night stay in a deluxe ocean view room at the Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti and ends with five nights in an overwater suite at Le Taha’a Island Resort & Spa. All three vacation packages include breakfast.
