Victoria launches seminar series on Yangtze

Boosting its Yangtze River cruise offerings, Victoria Cruises is teaming with JAL Group’s International Concepts & Travel and a China professional seminar organizer to launch a series of educational seminars next year led by experts in China.

Three programs dedicated to the subject of Approaches to Alternative Medicine are scheduled, as well as a series of business/travel-focused seminars covering taxation in China, investing in China and legal aspects of business in China.

With a first seminar on alternative medicine set for April, the program is designed for medical and holistic professionals to learn about various aspects of Oriental medicine including Sasang Typology an alternative approach to personalized medicine, enhancing fertility through herbs and acupuncture, defining body types, and homeopathic methodology and preventative health care.

“This cross-cultural occasion of East meets West will provide attendees with a comprehensive knowledge of alternative medicine, which differs from many traditional Western practices, and ultimately give medical professionals a better understanding of a holistic approach to health, taking into account the whole patient,” said James Pi, chairman, Victoria Cruises.

Invited speakers include Jun Han Hyunchul, doctor of Oriental Medicine and a graduate of the first class in Oriental Medicine at Kyung Hee University, Seoul; Chae Han, the first student to earn a Ph.D. in Oriental Medicine from Harvard University; and Park Jong Bae, a Ph.D. candidate in Oriental Medicine at Harvard University.

The Approaches to Alternative Medicine seminars are scheduled for April 8, July 15 and Oct. 21. The program is $2,999 per person, double, plus a $1,000 seminar fee,air transportation not included. For early bookings, a special introductory seminar fee of $750 is available through Jan. 31.
