Customizing Mongolia

Nomadic Expeditions offers journeys for solo travelers

By: J.L. Erickson

Nomadic Expeditions, specializing in cultural and adventure travel in Mongolia among other areas, is offering a “customized journey” for travelers who prefer to go solo on the road.

With decades of experience leading small-group journeys to cultural hot-spots and hidden natural sites throughout Mongolia, Tibet, Bhutan, China and Siberia, Nomadic Expeditions can piece together every aspect of a journey from university-trained, multi-lingual trip leaders, accommodations and dining; to the maze of travel regulations and logistics.

Journeys can include a fossil dig with paleontologists in the Gobi Desert, kayaking Lake Hovsgol, a horse trek to Hagiin Har Lake, one of the least-trafficked spots in Central Mongolia and an overnight in new deluxe gers (felt tents) at the Three Camel Lodge in the shadows of the Gobi-Altai Mountains.

Customized journeys start at $200 per day and the company offers more than two-dozen authentic cultural and adventure experiences throughout its key specialty areas.
