EVA Air has won the “Best Livery” category in the Wallpaper
Design Awards 2007 for its Hello Kitty Jet. Award winners were
selected by a panel of the style magazine’s writers and editors,
and are featured in the February 2007 issue.
“Airlines do try to be innovative in terms of design and luxury.
But it is rare to come across a product that is fun and quirky,”
said Jeroen Bergmans, Wallpaper travel editor. “The EVA Air Hello
Kitty Jet is camp, crazy and quintessentially Asian, and will also
keep those wailing children entertained throughout the flight.”
EVA’s two Hello Kitty Jets have proven to be popular on routes
between Taiwan and Japan.

EVA Air teamed up with Sanrio Company to create the world’s first
“Hello Kitty Jet,” a cheerful special-edition EVA Airbus 330-200
painted nose-to-tail with super-sized characters from the charming
world of Hello Kitty and began using it for daily flights between
Taiwan and Japan in October 2005. EVA’s second Kitty Jet was
launched a year later and gives well-known Hello Kitty characters
EVA identities its fuselage features Hello Kitty characters cast as
airline crew and staff.
EVA repeated the theme in cabin interiors with Hello Kitty
paintings on the walls and by outfitting flight attendants with
Hello Kitty hair ribbons and aprons. Kitty Jet passengers get
themed pink boarding passes and luggage tags. Onboard, they enjoy
Hello Kitty service accessories, meals and exclusive EVA Air Hello
Kitty duty-free shopping.
EVA passengers can book travel on the Hello Kitty Jets for flights
from Taipei to Nagoya, Osaka, Sendai, Fukuoka and Tokyo.
