Malaysia may not be your client’s first choice when it comes to end-of-the-year holiday celebrations, but they might want to reconsider after checking out these value-filled deals from some of the country’s best resorts.

Hotel Maya in Kuala Lumpur is offering both Christmas and New Year’s packages this winter to give clients a little holiday cheer — Malaysian style.

Christmas Package clients can check-in on Dec. 24 and enjoy a complimentary bottle of red wine, along with chocolates and strawberries, upon arrival. On Christmas, they can indulge in a buffet breakfast for two. The two-day, one-night package also includes a Christmas Eve Gala Gourmet eight-course dinner for two at Stillwaters, breathtaking views of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline at the 13th floor Sky Lounge in-room Wi-Fi access. Rates range from $277 to $333, based on double occupancy.

Those looking to usher in 2009 can enjoy the hotel’s comparable New Year Package. This two-day, one-night package includes a New Year’s Eve Gala eight-course dinner and is available from Dec. 31 to Jan.1. Rates range from $282 to $361 per night, based on double occupancy and depending on the choice of room.

Late check-out is available until 4 p.m., and all stays can be extended for an additional fee.

Party Like It’s 2009
Clients can count down to 2009 with family and friends by dancing the night away at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur this New Year’s Eve. The hotel is offering New Year’s Celebration rates from Dec. 31-Jan. 1 that are available in 12 different room and three apartment categories. The package includes a complimentary buffet breakfast for two; exclusive shopping benefits at selected shops through the Mandarin Oriental Lifestyle shopping program with Suria KLCC, a city shopping center; and access to full Club Floor facilities for Club guests. The hotel will also host exclusive New Year’s parties and plans to paint the sky with a fireworks show. Rates range from $193 to $767 per night, depending on the choice of accommodation. Available accommodations range from a Deluxe City View guestroom to a three-bedroom Executive Apartment.

Counting Down in Kuala Lumpur
Clients can also welcome the New Year with Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur’s New Year’s Eve Package. It includes a stay for two from Dec. 31 to Jan. 1 and features a New Year’s Buffet for two at Latest Recipe, a New Year’s Eve party in the Conservatory with a fireworks display and continued festivities in the morning, ending with a breakfast for two at Latest Recipe. Late check-out is until 3 p.m. Rates start at $195 per night and are valid for reservations booked now through Dec. 30.

Sparks Fly at Karambunai
And, for clients who have made a New Year’s resolution to fall in love all over again, they might look into the Nexus Resort Karambunai’s Deluxe Honeymooners Package for five days and four nights. The package includes a welcome drink and fruit basket, heart-shaped rose petals on the bed for the first night, a chocolate gift plate, a bottle of wine and a 90-minute aromatherapy massage, with a 10-percent discount on additional spa treatments. Couples also receive complimentary daily buffet breakfast and a sunset cocktail, as well as one candlelight dinner at Olives Mediterranean Restaurant and one buffet dinner at the Kingfisher Restaurant. Finally, a private sedan car returns guests to the airport.

The package costs $1,183 per couple and is available until March 31. Commission is $42.
