Pacific Delight Tours is offering deluxe India tours for travelers with a wide range of time frames and budgets as part of its updated India brochure. The tours, which showcase the country’s multifaceted destinations and attractions, combine professionally guided, organized tours with free times for added flexibility.

The 2008-2009 itineraries are featured in the tour operator’s new India Experience brochure, which agents can order online via its Web site. Tours are offered from Aug. 2008 to March 2009.

A nine-day itinerary gives travelers a chance to delve into the rich history and culture of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur and includes deluxe and superior first-class accommodations. Activities include excursions to the Red Fort in Delhi, the Jama Masjid — India’s largest mosque, the Taj Mahal in Agra and the City Palace in Jaipur.

The 13-day package adds Varanasi, Khajuraho and Udaipur to the nine-day destination roster. In Khajuraho, clients will visit medieval Hindu and Jain temples known for their well-preserved erotic sculptures. In Varanasi, considered one of the oldest cities in the world, they will travel to Humayun’s Tomb, an architectural inspiration for the Taj Mahal.

Both tours offer optional extension programs as well, including a four-day Nepal package, five-day Aurangabad and Mumbai extension, a six-day tour to Bhutan and a six-day tour of Kerala in southwest India.

All packages include roundtrip airfare from New York, superior first-class, deluxe or five-star accommodations, tour escorts, daily breakfasts (and six dinners on the longer program), transfers, fuel surcharges, hotel taxes, service charges and baggage handling. Land-only prices and single supplements are also available, as are add-on fares from other North American gateways.

Rates for the nine-day package range from $2,698 to $3,998 per person based on double occupancy. The 13-day package, which primarily houses guests at Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, ranges from $5,398 to $7,118 per person based on double occupancy. Optional tour extensions range in cost from $528 to $1,928 per person. Additional government imposed taxes and fees are not included and prices are subject to change.
