Come 2011, Raffles Hotels & Resorts will open its newest Southeast Asian location, Raffles Jakarta, in the heart of Indonesia — a sign of the region’s rapid growth and development.

“Not only is Jakarta the heart of economics, commerce and industry in Indonesia, it is also the gateway to the rest of the country and home to both cosmopolitan trends and traditional cultures,” said Diana Ee-Tan, managing director, Raffles Hotels & Resorts. “The World Travel and Tourism Council has ranked Indonesia’s travel & tourism economy among the world’s top 25 countries in terms of growth forecast and Jakarta, being the gateway to Indonesia, is well positioned to take advantage of this trend. Raffles Hotels & Resorts is delighted to be part of this growth environment.”

Located in The Golden Triangle — the capital city’s central business district — the new Raffles Jakarta will be part of Ciputra World Jakarta, a new mixed-use building development that will feature a shopping mall, office buildings, apartments and an art museum.

The new hotel and resort will feature 180 guestrooms and suites with a bent toward residential charm and elegance. Rooms range in size from 650 square feet up to 2,500 square feet for a suite. In addition, the complex will house 80 Raffles Residences for private ownership.

Guests and residents alike can choose from numerous dining options, including a planned specialty Chinese restaurant, bar & grill, lobby lunge and pool bar. The hotel will also feature an 8,000 square-foot-ballroom, four meeting rooms and conference and meeting facilities for corporate retreats. Those seeking rest and relaxation will look forward to booking an appointment at a 3,600 square-foot RafflesAmrita Spa as well.
