Offering in-depth sightseeing packages for travelers seeking to delve into a single area, Pacific Delight World Tours has launched seven Single City Packages, adding Saigon, Bali and Hong Kong to a roster that also includes Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore and Bangkok.

The seven- and eight-day packages include extensive sightseeing and free time for travelers to independently explore major Asian cities, add a variety of optional excursions, add extra nights, and stay in first-class accommodations with off-season rates starting at $815 per person, double; land-only rates starting at $250.

Seven-day Saigon Sojourn, with accommodations at the deluxe Omni Saigon Hotel, offers a full-day city tour, giving travelers a base from which to further explore on their own including the Notre Dame Cathedral, the French-style Central Post Office, Reunification Palace, Ben Thanh Market, and three pagodas: Jade Emperor, Saigon’s oldest Giac Lam and Thien Hau. Excursions take in the Cu Chi Tunnels, the network of secret tunnels used during the war and a boat trip on the Mekong.

Bali Vistas, an eight-day package of sightseeing and independent exploration, includes a full-day orientation sightseeing tour of the villages of Batubulan, Celuk, Mas, Ubud and Kintamani; a full day in the highland of Bedugul that includes visits to the fruit and flower market of Candi Kuning, the former Royal temple, Taman Ayun, the monkey forest at Alas Kedaton and Tanah Lot Temple.

Two Hong Kong packages a seven day SuperValue and an eight-day Vistas offer sightseeing to Stanley Market, the beaches of Repulse Bay, Aberdeen Bay’s sampan colony and a panoramic view of the city and its harbor from Victoria Peak. Free optional daily activities include tai chi classes, pearl and jade classes, discussions on antiques by an expert authenticator, and classes on the art of feng shui.

Included sightseeing on the seven-day Bangkok SuperValue showcases two of the capital city’s most popular sites the 100-building Royal Grand Palace complex and the sacred Temple of the Emerald Buddha at Wat Phra Kaeo, as well as a longboat cruise along the city’s canals. Optional excursions range from a Thai dinner and classical dance at Banthai Restaurant to a full day in Ayutthaya.

Seven-day Shanghai SuperValue has Friday departures from Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Seattle and Portland with highlights including the emporium-lined Nanjing or Huai Hai Road, the Shanghai Museum, Jade Buddha Temple, a walk along the European-styled Bund and a performance at the Children’s Palace. Optional excursions range from a Chinese dinner with acrobatic show to a scenic train ride to Suzhou and extensive touring.

Singapore SuperValue, also seven days, focuses on diversity - Little India, Chinatown, the People’s Market and renowned Botanic Garden. Travelers can add a Night Safari, a combination tram ride and walking tour through a jungle setting, Asian cooking lessons from some of the region’s most experienced chefs; a harbor cruise aboard a replica of an Imperial Ming Dynasty ship; and a day in Sentosa, Singapore’s resort island, with visits to Asia’s largest tropical oceanarium and Images of Singapore Museum.

Seven-day Beijing SuperValue visits Tian An Men Square, the Forbidden City, treasure-filled Imperial Palace, the Summer Palace, the Great Wall, the statue-lined Sacred Way of the Ming Tombs and Chiang Ling Exhibition Hall. Optional sightseeing includes a Hutong tour, riding a Pedi cab along the ancient narrow streets, a visit to a courtyard-style residence and a panoramic city view from atop Drum Tower Pagoda.

The packages include roundtrip trans-Pacific air, accommodations, local professional, bilingual guides, sightseeing, daily breakfast and some lunches (except Hong Kong), transfers, baggage handling, hotel taxes and service charges. Daily departures through March, 2006 are offered on most packages from both coasts aboard United, Northwest or Cathay Pacific, with add-on fares from dozens of North American cities.
