Travelers get a taste if the history and culture of Thailand in Ritz Tours’ 15-day Tantalizing Thailand program, with prices starting at $1,399 per person plus taxes, double.
The group’s two-day stay in Bangkok begins with a Thai Classical Dance Welcome Dinner Show and tour stops include the luxurious Grand Palace and Coronation Hall, the Dam Nern Saduak Floating Market on Bangkok’s canals, and the spiritual Emerald Buddha Temple. Optional tours (including lunch) are available to the Bridge over River Kwai, Ayuthaya Ancient City and Bang Pa In Summer Palace.

After Bangkok, travelers fly to Chiang Rai and tour the old capital of Chang Saen; the “Golden Triangle” where Myanmar, Laos and Thailand meet; and Mae Sai, the northernmost town in Thailand.

Next on the program is the ancient city of Chiang Mai, the center of Thai religion, culture and trade for nearly 300 years, where guests will enjoy their first evening with a Khantoke Lanna Dinner Show. During the tour, travelers can visit the sacred Doi Suthep Temple, located at 3,500 feet above sea level, the Thai Handicraft Village, the Chiang Dao Cape and Meo Village. Other highlights include an excursion to see the elephants at work in the jungle and a “Temple Tour” featuring the 700-year-old Wat Chiang Mun Temple.

The tour price includes roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles or San Francisco, airfare between cities visited in Asia, five-star accommodations, air-conditioned motor coaches, meals and entertainment per the itinerary, and tour guides.

Departure dates through December 2006.
