Victoria Cruisesa leading innovator and pioneer on China’s Yangtze Riverwill once again be the exclusive provider of Yangtze River sailings for Uniworld’s escorted China tours in 2005.

An American-managed company, Victoria Cruises operates the largest fleet of vessels on the Yangtze, with a five-star rating from the China National Tourism Administration. Uniworld River Cruises, Inc., newly acquired by the Travel Corporation, is a leading river cruise and tour company offering premium vacations in Europe, Russia, China and South America. The company provides all-inclusive tours for high-end travelers (in an all-English speaking, non-smoking environment).

“Victoria Cruises and Uniworld truly represent a joining of forces between the leading river cruise line in China and the world’s leading river cruise operator,” said Benson Wu, vice president of Victoria Cruises.

In addition, Victoria Cruises will expand its fleet to seven with the introduction of the Victoria Anna in April 2006. The Victoria Anna will be the largest ship in the company’s fleet and will boast the highest passenger capacity and the most suites of all vessels sailing the Yangtze.

For travelers interested in experiencing Beijing, Xian, Shanghai and a cruise along the Yangtze, Uniworld recommends the 13-day Highlights of China and the Yangtze River package. The tour includes roundtrip transportation to Beijing and from Shanghai via United Airlines or Northwest Airlines; all transportation within the tour; an excursion on the Yangtze River from Chongqing to Yichang with Victoria Cruises (with all meals and shore excursions); all meals in China (including a festive Peking Duck dinner in Beijing and a savory Dumpling lunch in Xian); special cultural performances (Beijing Opera, Tang Dynasty Show in Xian, and thrilling acrobatics in Shanghai); comprehensive sightseeing, including the services of English-speaking local guides; services of an experienced Uniworld Tour Manager throughout the tour; and all transfers for passengers on Uniworld flights. Prices start at $2598 per person, based on double occupancy, which includes airfare from Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. Single supplements cost $1098. Air prices from other major U.S. gateways are available. Departure dates are available March Oct. 2005.
