Vietnam’s largest seaside resort property, the five-story Vinpearl Resort & Spa in Nha Trang, has been converted to a Sofitel luxury brand under Accor, boosting amenities with plans to more than double the hotel’s current 230 rooms.

The Sofitel VinPearl Resort & Spa, which opened in 2003 on Hon Tre Island a few minutes off Nha Trang city, features 230 rooms and suites with an additional 270 rooms planned. It is fronted by a private bay with a 700-meter stretch of white sand beach and features three restaurants and three swimming pools, including the largest in Vietnam.

The resort includes numerous sports and recreation facilities including four tennis courts, fitness centre with daily aerobics classes, driving range and putting green, archery range, mountain bikes, Kids’ Club, table tennis and game room with pool tables, Mah Jong and chess. The resort’s Grand Ballroom can accommodate over 700 attendees theater style and also has three additional meeting rooms for smaller gatherings.

The hotel dive centre offers certified diving courses and can arrange dive and snorkel trips to Nha Trang’s protected marine area, which features nine islands and over 100 species of both fish and coral. Other water sports available at the hotel include Jet Skis, wakeboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing, ocean canoeing and parasailing.

It is Accor’s fifth Sofitel high-end resort and hotel the group manages in Vietnam, following Sofitel Metropole Hanoi, Sofitel Plaza Hanoi, Sofitel Plaza Saigon and Sofitel Palace Dalat.
