Ritz Tours is offering an 11-day Vietnam Discovery package with space available on some November and December departures offering an introduction to the country’s tropical geography, culture and society.

With air-inclusive prices starting at $1,999 plus taxes per person, double, the escorted journey begins in Hanoi, where Western influences in food, fashion and music can be found throughout a city that still retains its ancient culture, French architecture and picturesque surroundings.

Highlights in Hanoi include stops at One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature (founded in 1070 and dedicated to the Chinese scholar Confucius), Hoan Kiem Lake and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum where travelers will enjoy a view of the Opera House.

In Hoi An an ancient, picturesque riverside town points of interest include Quan Cong Temple and Phuoc Kien Pagoda. The tour continues on to the Japanese Covered Bridge and the nearby Sa Huynh Museum, as well as Phung Hung House, inhabited by the same family for eight generations and boasting a combination of Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese architectural influences.

The final leg of the journey is in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon), with stops at Notre Dame Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, the War Museum, Chinatown, Thien Hau Pagoda, the Ben Thanh Market and a tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels, an intricate complex of underground tunnels used during the Vietnam War.
