Secrets Resorts & Spas will officially open its first Jamaica properties in March 2010. The two all-inclusive, all-suites resorts — Secrets St. James Montego Bay and Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay — will be situated side by side on beachfront locations.
AM Resorts is bullish on their decision to enter the Jamaica market.
“Despite a downturn in tourist arrivals in other Caribbean countries, Jamaica ended 2008 with a 4 percent growth in tourism over the previous year,” said Alex Zozaya, president and CEO of AM Resorts.
The 350-all suites Secrets St. James and 350-all suites Secrets Wild Orchid are set on Montego Bay, 30-minutes from Montego Bay International Airport. All suites have ocean views. Several rooms at each resort are categorized as Ocean Front and provide a direct view of the ocean. Ocean Front rooms are in the Preferred Club and can be specifically reserved. For something special, book one of the select suites at Secrets Wild Orchid offering private, swim-out access to the resort’s free-form pool.
Guests of either resort will have the privilege of visiting the sister property. Guests will also have a broad choice of venues, including eight dining options, seven bars and lounges, large free-form swimming pools, beachfront Jacuzzis, spas and a beach club. The two resorts will share a common area, Main Square, where guests will find a game room, boutiques, cafes and a movie theater.
Nearby off-resort activities include Dunn’s River Falls; the coffee-growing Blue Mountain region; and five championship golf courses including the White Witch, Half Moon, Tryall, Three Palms Ocean Course at Wyndham Rose Hall and Cinnamon Hill.
This month, agents can start booking rooms at Secrets St. James and Secrets Wild Orchid for their March openings. Down the road, agents will see an introductory travel agent rate encouraging agents to experience the resorts firsthand. Look for organized fams as well as independent fams once the resorts have opened.
