The Condado Vanderbilt Hotel, an iconic San Juan hotel dating back to 1919, is on track to reopen in Summer 2011. The Condado closed in 1997 and its reconstruction began in 2003. During its reopening, the hotel will welcome guests with 305 guestrooms; the only full-service spa in a Condado hotel, complete with six treatment rooms and the first hamman room in San Juan; and several restaurants, including the upscale 19 Nineteen, the outdoor Ocean Bistro and Vino Veritas Wine Bar.
In addition, two 11-story, suite-only guestroom towers will offer dedicated butler services. In a nod to the past, the hotel will have the original grand staircase, which remains an integral part of the hotel. Other design details, such as the hotel’s original floors and moldings, are being restored.
