Last month, Sandals announced the launch of its new take on destinations weddings called “Your Wedding. Your Style.” The thrust of the new offering is Sandals’ embrace of the needs of the modern bride. The company realizes that brides today want to be involved in selecting every element of their wedding; they want to plan a custom destination wedding experience that’s uniquely theirs.

“Today’s bride – those born from 1979 to today, are Millennial Brides,” said Adam Stewart, CEO of Sandals Resorts. “They want to design their own wedding.”

Your Wedding. Your Style., combined with Sandals tried-and-true WeddingMoons concept, eliminates the cookie-cutter wedding package. Brides get the customization options that they crave, resulting in a truly personalized Caribbean wedding experience. Your Wedding. Your Style. is available at any one of Sandals’ 14 Caribbean resorts, as well as the company’s three Beaches Resorts.

Sandals has created an exclusive Online Destination Wedding Designer that makes customization easy. Brides begin by building a profile and selecting a wedding location, one of four Caribbean destinations: Jamaica, The Bahamas, Antigua or Saint Lucia. Then, using the Sandals Destination Wedding Designer’s interactive tool, they choose a color palette from 10 distinct shades, including a variety of corals, pinks, blues and greens.

After selecting a palette, they can browse almost 1,000 wedding ideas for flowers, decor, wedding cakes and entertainment. Each wedding is assigned a unique code that can be referenced when booking the wedding with a dedicated pre-planning consultant. The tool’s sharing functionality also lets brides send favorite designs and ideas to their parents, the bridal party and guests via Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter and even their own wedding website and blog.

The Sandals Destination Wedding Designer covers every facet of the wedding, including bouquets and boutonnieres, ceremony details, reception, cakes, specialty dinners and bars, photography and videography packages and bridal salon appointments for pre-wedding beauty treatments. Your clients can also enhance the experience with a variety of creative decor and entertainment options, including fire dancers, tiki torches, candy buffets and steel drum bands.

As an added benefit, Sandals is offering couples $500 toward the custom wedding when they stay for six nights or longer. Travel agents can score big by booking a Sandals WeddingMoon for their clients, since every aspect of the booking is commissionable. During the launch, it was pointed out that the Online Destination Wedding Designer is not a booking engine.  Instead it’s an online tool that makes it easy for couples to plan their wedding with their travel agent.

Gary Sadler, senior vice president of Unique Vacations, noted during the launch that Sandals has developed an enhanced education program for its WeddingMoons product. Interested agents should be on the lookout for upcoming fam trips designed to introduce the product.
