With tourism around the world down, Sonesta Beach Resort Bermuda
has responded with an array of packages targeting various
activities and demographics. All packages include round-trip
airport transfers and require at least a three-night stay.
The Family Fun and Sun package includes a room that can
accommodate up to four people, a Heritage Passport seven-day pass,
an ice cream voucher per person and round-trip transfers to the
aquarium. Prices start at $470 per night.
The Year-Round Golf Package includes accommodations for two,
three rounds of golf per person, use of golf cart, one sleeve of
golf balls per person and a massage per person. Prices for two
golfers start at $610 per night.
The Fantasea Dive package includes islandview or waterview
accommodations for two, Discover Diving or Diver’s Wreck dive
excursion and extra nights at package rates are available. Prices
for two people start at $515 per night.
The Spa Sampler package comes with accommodations for two, daily
use of spa and fitness center, a European facial treatment, a
relaxation and tranquility massage, a self-heating mud treatment, a
marine algae body mask and a manicure and pedicure. Prices for one
spa client per room starts at $475 per night.
Finally, the Best Romance package includes accommodations for
two, a massage per person, picnic lunch basket, paradise dining on
the beach and daily use of a two-seater motor scooter. Prices start
at $550 per night.
Sonesta is in Southampton Parish, on a 25-acre peninsula
stretching into the Atlantic Ocean. Commission is 10 percent.
The Fairmont Hamilton Princess recently underwent a
$24.3-million renovation and the Fairmont Southampton, a
$61-million renovation. Changes include new lobbies, refurbished
guest rooms and the addition of a 23,000-square-foot Willow Stream
Spa to the Fairmont Southampton.
Elbow Beach has started a $5.6-million renovation project,
targeting its beachfront cottages. Guest rooms in the main building
will also have carpeting and wall treatments upgraded.
The Grotto Bay Beach Resort recently has completed a $7-million
renovation, refurbishing bathrooms with imported marble and
transforming the resort’s guest rooms in a traditional British
Pink Beach Club & Cottages also completed an $18-million
renovation focusing on the cottages and dining areas, including
unveiling 16 new or refurbished ocean-view and oceanfront
Renee Webb recently was appointed tourism minister and Judith
Hall-Bean, tourism director. Together, they are implementing
marketing and sales plans for the island, which include the recent
launch of the first new ad campaign in five years. The campaign, in
conjunction with top fashion designers, includes commercials and
print ads featuring the iconic Bermuda shorts as its logo.
