Carnival Cruise Lines will deploy the 2,758-passenger Carnival Victory on year-round seven-day southern Caribbean departures from San Juan beginning in November 2008.

Carnival Victory replaces the Carnival Destiny on the itinerary and provides a newer, slightly larger ship, as well as a fresh choice for consumers.

Carnival Victory offers a dramatic decor inspired by the world’s great oceans and seas, designed by Carnival’s ship architect Joe Farcus. The Seven Seas atrium spans nine decks. From the Atlantic and Pacific dining rooms, to the South China Sea Club casino, to the Adriatic Lounge, there are 17 different themed venues for guests.

The ship offers high-tech features such as an Internet cafe, Wi-Fi access and cell phone service.

The vessel also features four swimming pools one with a 214-foot corkscrew waterslide, a 14,500-square-foot spa and gymnasium, an onboard duty-free shopping mall and a jogging track. Family-friendly amenities include Camp Carnival and Club 02 with supervised activities and facilities for children and teens, respectively.

Dining options include twin two-level dining rooms with wine lists, a 1,200-seat poolside eatery featuring a 24-hour pizzeria, a patisserie serving specialty coffees and sweets, and complimentary 24-hour room service.

In addition, the Carnival Victory will feature Carnival’s Seaside Theatre with an outdoor LED screen showing movies, concerts and other programming. A full range of daytime and evening features will be available including everything from kids movies to major sporting events.

The ship also offers elaborate stage shows from the 1,500-seat Caribbean Lounge, spanning three decks, with shows “Livin’ in America” and “Vroom.”

Every stateroom features the Carnival Comfort Bed sleep system, with plush mattresses, luxurious duvets and high-quality linens and pillows.

“The Carnival Victory will provide a great new option for us in the Southern Caribbean, including the opportunity to visit five magnificent ports of call, all in a one-week cruise,” said Vicki Freed, Carnival’s senior vice president of sales and marketing.

The Carnival Victory’s new five-port, seven-day schedule from San Juan kicks off Nov. 2, 2008, and includes an overnight call in the resort area of La Romana/Casa De Campo, along with visits to St. Kitts, Barbados, Dominica and St. Thomas.

Carnival is currently accepting reservations for the Carnival Victory’s seven-day cruises from San Juan.
