Carnival Cruise Lines is testing a new program on two ships that makes privileges formerly awarded to Diamond and Platinum guests available for all — for a price.

Called Faster to the Fun, the fee-based package provides priority embarkation, early stateroom availability, express luggage delivery, express access to the guest services desk, priority dinner seatings, choice of debarkation time and tender availability, among other features, for $49.95 per stateroom, regardless of the number of occupants. This sort of package is typically awarded by the cruise lines to guests ranking highly in their loyalty programs and/or those who have booked high-end suites.

Carnival says Faster to the Fun was developed based on extensive guest surveys that indicated a strong interest in a fee-based package providing priority access and benefits. Diamond- and Platinum-level members of Carnival’s guest recognition program, called the VIFP (Very Important Fun Person) Club, receive all Faster to the Fun benefits without charge, including the two new benefits of early stateroom availability and express luggage delivery service.

Faster to the Fun is currently available for purchase in conjunction with voyages on the Carnival Imagination and Carnival Liberty.
