Several cruise lines are offering an array of discounts to boost sales for the upcoming winter. Here’s a sampling.

American West Steamboat Co. offers savings of up to $800 per cabin on select cruises of the Queen of the West. Departures are Nov. 9, Nov. 30, Dec. 7, Dec. 14, Dec. 21, Dec. 28, Feb. 15, Feb. 22, March 1, March 8 and March 15. Booking deadline for the discount is Sept. 30. The 163-passenger paddlewheeler offers weekly cruises from Portland, Ore., on the Columbia, Willamette and Snake rivers. The March 8 and March 15 cruises will operate special Lewis and Clark itineraries. Rates for 2002 and 2003 cruises range from $1,195 to $4,845, depending on cabin category and departure date.

Seabourn Cruise Line is offering free coach airfare on two South American cruises of the Seabourn Pride. The offer is good on the Jan. 4 18-day cruise from Fort Lauderdale and the March 1 16-day cruise from Manaus, Brazil. With early-booking discounts, fares start at $5,933 per person, double, including air, for the 16-day cruise and $6,997 for the 18-day voyage.

The 11-day package, which includes a four-night Yangtze River voyage, is priced from $1,798, including air and all meals. From December through March, Uniworld says temperatures are mild, and the sights are less crowded. The four-night cruise sails to the construction site of the Three Gorges Dam. The package includes land stays in Beijing, Chongqing and Shanghai.

Radisson Seven Seas Cruises is offering two-for-one savings on 19 tropical cruises this fall and winter. With the discounts, fares start at $998 per person, double, which include shipboard gratuities and wine with dinner.

Five itineraries begin or end in Los Angeles. The 14-night Panama Canal cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles on the Seven Seas Navigator departs Jan. 7; fares start at $3,948. Others include Nov. 23, 16 nights, Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles, Navigator, from $3,548; Dec. 9, seven nights, roundtrip Los Angeles, Navigator, from $1,748; and Feb. 12 and March 12, 14 nights, between Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles, Radisson Diamond, from $3,648.
