MSC Adds a Seventh Ship

Italian line that is expanding its presence in North America

MSC Cruises, the Italian line that is expanding its presence in North America, has acquired the former European Stars and renamed it MSC Sinfonia.

The ship formerly was part of the Festival Cruises, which operated as First European Cruises in North America. Festival filed for bankruptcy in Italy in June.

“With the MSC Sinfonia, MSC Cruises reaffirms its determination to become a leader in the worldwide cruise market,” said President Rick Sasso.

MSC Cruises has more than doubled its fleet since 2002.
