Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) new 4,100-passenger Epic set record-breaking booking levels following its successful inaugural activities in Europe, New York and Miami. Its booking volume for the week ending July 10 is second only to the previous week ending July 3. The line said that media exposure during the inaugural activities and positive reviews from both travel partners and the press are helping to fuel demand. The ship served as the venue for the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, which was broadcast live on NBC. The hour-long broadcast was the number-one program across all networks for the evening, hitting a three-year high in ratings.

“Now that we have shown the Norwegian Epic to the world and she has been so well received by all, we are more than pleased with the record-breaking booking volumes for this incredible new ship,” said Kevin Sheehan, NCL’s president and CEO.
