Royal Caribbean International (RCI) has announced that it will invest approximately $300 million in Royal Advantage revitalizations that extend the line’s latest innovations across its entire fleet and introduce the highest guest-rated programs from its Oasis-class ships.

The RCI revitalizations began with Radiance of the Seas in May and will be followed by Splendour of the Seas in November. In 2012, Vision-class ships will be transformed during a month’s drydock, including Rhapsody (March 2012) and Grandeur (May 2012), as well as the Radiance-class Serenade (November 2012). In 2013 and 2014, revitalizations will take place on remaining Vision-class ships, including Legend and Vision, as well as the Radiance-class Brilliance of the Seas and four Voyager-class ships: Navigator, Voyager, Explorer and Adventure. Less extensive enhancements are planned for the Freedom-class Independence of the Seas, Voyager-class Mariner of the Seas and Vision-class Enchantment of the Seas.

Among the enhancements are shipwide Wi-Fi access, interactive, flat-panel televisions in staterooms and electronic mustering. All ships will have digital wayfinding system displays on new plasma and LCD touch screens. Oversize video screens will be installed on the pool decks, and the Royal Babies and Tots nursery will cater to children ages 6 months to 3 years old.

New levels of accommodations will include staterooms designed for families, and additional dining options will include the Chef’s Table, with intimate wine pairing dinners of five courses; Izumi, a pan-Asian cuisine restaurant and sushi bar; RCI’s signature steakhouse, Chops Grille; casual dining at the Park Cafe; traditional Mexican fare and evening entertainment in Rita’s Cantina; and Boardwalk Dog House for brats, links, wieners and hot dogs.
