Signature Shops on HAL

The new ms Eurodam will feature exclusive shops in 2008

Holland America Line’s first Signature-class ship, ms Eurodam, will feature an exclusive collection of Signature Shops in an expanded shopping promenade when the 2,104-passenger luxury liner debuts in June 2008.

The Signature Shops concept highlights four major additions: high-end Merabella, offering one-of-a-kind designer jewelry collections; Fine Jewelry, specializing in diamonds and gemstones; Fine Watches; and Destination & Apparel, featuring a selection tailored to the climate in which guests are cruising in addition to classic nautical wear.

“Holland America Line successfully introduced Merabella, the high-end jewelry store, on the ms Amsterdam and added it to the Vista-class ms Westerdam in May,” said Richard D. Meadows, executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs. “The positive response from guests convinced us to include Merabella on our new Eurodam as well as introduce it to other ships in our fleet.”

“Guest feedback also led Holland America Line to add approximately 1,000 square feet of boutique space and add other luxury Signature Shops on these ships,” said Meadows. “We’re responding to a new trend in cruise guests’ shopping preferences they definitely want expanded selection and upscale choices while cruising.”

And the Eurodam’s perks don’t end there.

With one more deck than Holland America Line’s 10-deck Vista-class ships, the Signature-class Eurodam will feature three alternative dining venues, including a new pan-Asian restaurant with panoramic views and the Explorations Cafe, powered by the New York Times. Other additions include an Explorer’s Lounge Bar, new atrium bar area, reconfigured show lounge and a new photographic and imaging center.
