Passengers aboard Crystal Cruises’ 2006 World Cruise will have an impressive array of activities to choose from. The 106-day voyage will feature 250 shore excursions, including 23 overland adventures, 83 brand new excursions, and 11 safaris. Crystal’s 11th annual grand odyssey, dubbed “Discovery of the Hemispheres,” departs January 18, 2006 aboard the 68,000-ton, 1,080-passenger Crystal Serenity. The cruise travels from Los Angeles to London, visiting 41 ports in 25 countries from January 18 to May 5, 2006.

Among the 250 Crystal Adventures offered on the cruise are new tours, such as a walk on the ocean floor in Bora Bora, a four-wheeling safari along New Zealand’s Seal Coast, and a hike through the Black River Gorges in Mauritius. Overland excursions include safaris in South Africa, Namibia, Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia and Botswana.

Crystal guests can enjoy shore experiences tailored to their own personal interests and hobbies. Snorkeling enthusiasts, for example, can explore underwater seascapes in Huatulco, Mexico, French Polynesia, Oman and the Seychelles. Naturalists can experience adventures in the Galapagos, the Paracas National Reserve, the Otago Peninsula, and the Bebour Rain Forest. Amateur archeologists can enjoy Machu Picchu, Luxor, the Valley of the Kings and Petra, as well as day trips to Easter Island, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Sabratha in Libya, and the medieval village of Obidos in Lisbon.

The “Discovery of the Hemispheres” cruise is also available in seven segments ranging from 11 to 19 days. Each of the shorter segments features a complimentary shore event such as a pilgrimage to the tomb of an Old Testament prophet in Oman and an excursion through New Zealand’s Taieri Gorge.

World Value Fares for the complete “Discovery of the Hemispheres” Cruise start at $42,790 per person, double occupancy, and include round-trip First or Business Class air transportation (depending on stateroom category) from one of Crystal Cruise’s North American air gateway cities, private car airport/ship/home transfers, pre-paid gratuities, $1,000 shipboard spending credit, complimentary Visas for U.S. and Canadian citizens, luxury overnight hotel accommodations and gala bon voyage party in Los Angeles prior to embarkation.
