DoubleTree by Hilton Opens First Hotel in Spain
New property offers leisure stays on the Costa Brava

Hilton Worldwide has opened its first DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Spain. DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Spa Emporda is an upscale, 87-room property located on the site of Emporda Golf Club. Emporda is a region of the province Girona, set within one of Spain’s most renowned tourism regions, the Costa Brava. DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Spa Emporda is only a five-minute drive to the nearest beach. The Costa Brava stretches for 36 miles along the coast of Catalonia and is famed primarily for its warm climate and beaches. Standout beaches include Begur, Aiguablava, Calella and Llafranc. As guests would expect, seafood is a staple of the region’s cuisine, with anchovies, prawns and monkfish especially prevalent.

The Emporda Golf Club has two 18-hole golf courses created by Robert von Hagge, the award-winning golf course designer. Rooms at the hotel provide panoramic views of the golf course and nearby mountains. DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Spa Emporda will feature a restaurant as well as a barbecue during the summer months. Guests will have access to a 24-hour business center, a fitness center and a spa with indoor pool. A range of meeting rooms will also be available totaling 1,161 square feet with capacity from 10 to 350 guests.
The hotel is located 30 miles away from the city of Girona, which lies 30 miles from the resort, easily accessible by car. Girona is an ancient walled city that was once an important part of the Roman Empire. First-time visitors to Girona should head for the pedestrianized historic Old Quarter where, in addition to ancient sites, they will discover a multitude of small cafes and boutiques.
