Looking ahead to next year, there are some truly great tour packages available at a wide range of price points for travelers who want to explore the rich history and beautiful scenery of Europe. For the budget-minded traveler, Sceptre Tours is offering a six-night Ireland package for $499 per person, based on a group of four, and Globus is offering couples $1,000 off any 2011 tours to Italy. For the luxury client, Abercrombie & Kent invites them to cruise the waterways of France in style and Compagnie du Ponant introduces cruises through Scandinavia, Greenland and Iceland on its new mega yacht, Le Boreal.

Ireland on a Budget
Clients can now explore the green pastures of Ireland for less with Sceptre Tours’ new Adare Villa With Car + Air package. The new, six-night package includes roundtrip airfare to Shannon or Dublin, six nights in a private three-bedroom villa at the Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort in Limerick and a rental car for $499 per person, based on four clients traveling together.

The Adare Manor is walking distance from the quaint village of Adare and is a short drive away from Cork, Tipperary and Waterford, along with the breathtaking Irish coast.

The $499 price is based on four people traveling from New York and Boston for travel from Nov. 1 to Dec. 16. The trip is priced from $549 per person, based on a group of four, for travel March 27 to April 30, 2011. Clients who wish to travel from Jan. 1 to March 26, 2011, will pay $599, per person, based on a group of four. Various upgrades are available.

Cruising the Waterways of France

Abercrombie & Kent river cruises are offering a wide variety of canal and river cruises on the waterways of Burgundy, the Loire Valley, Alsace-Lorraine and the south of France at special rates for 2011.

A new cruise onboard the Saint Louis is available for 2011 along the Canal Lateral a la Garonne in southwestern France — a new region for Abercrombie & Kent. Clients will get the chance to explore quaint villages and towns along with the lush, unspoiled countryside of this often overlooked corner of the country for six nights at $4,189 per person, based on six clients traveling together.

The Chocolate & Wine itinerary is ideal for families on summer vacation. Sailing on the Elisabeth charter barge, clients will see the countryside of Burgundy, including the medieval village, Noyers, filled with gargoyles and cobbled streets. The Flavors of Italy

Luxury in Scandinavia, Greenland and Iceland
For the first time, Compagnie du Ponant is offering tours to Greenland and Canada’s Arctic Ocean via its new mega yacht, Le Boreal. From May to September 2011, the line is offering 12 voyages around Scandinavia, Iceland and Greenland.

On June 27, 2011, the ship departs Norway on a 13-night voyage to Reykjavik, Iceland. Three days are devoted to zodiac outings, during which guests can see polar bears and seals along the pristine coasts of Spitzbergen Island, the last land before the North Pole.  Other highlights include visits to the Lofoten Islands; Honningsvag, where the reindeer-herding Sami live; and Akureyri, said to be one of Iceland’s most beautiful towns. 

For clients who want a more historical experience, Compagnie du Ponant is offering three eight-night Copenhagen-Stockholm itineraries, which allow passengers to explore famous Scandinavian cities.

Le Boreal boasts a stylish French design along with luxurious modern amenities. Prices range from $2,704 to $18,660 per person, based on the itinerary and dates. Compagnie du Ponant offers travel agent commissions that range between 10 and 15 percent.
