Ala Moana Hotel

The year-long celebration of Ala Moana Hotel’s 40th birthday is in high gear and racing toward the finish. To get clients revved up through Nov. 30, the Honolulu-based property is giving them the chance to win a new red convertible Smart Car Passion Cabriolet.

On each day that guests stay at the hotel, they can submit one entry in the contest, called Still Sporty at 40. To whet their appetites, they can check out the Passion Cabriolet on display at the hotel. The winner of the giveaway will be announced on Dec. 1.

Promoted as both sophisticated and sporty, the eco-friendly Passion Cabriolet features high safety ratings and great mileage — 33 city miles per gallon and 41 highway miles per gallon. The vehicle’s body panels are fully recyclable and painted by a powder-coating process which removes the use of solvents. Additionally, the car almost completely oxidizes carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons to render them harmless through an electric pump, which blows fresh air into the exhaust pipe when the engine is cold. Standing at just 5.1 feet tall and weighing in at just 1,800 pounds, the two-person vehicle takes up minimal space on the road.

“We want to top off the year with a very special giveaway to demonstrate our appreciation for our guests,” said Marty Milan, director of sales and marketing for Ala Moana Hotel. “Since our multi-million dollar renovation, Ala Moana Hotel has been infused with new life and sparkle, and it is well-equipped and ready to provide gracious island hospitality for the next 40 years.”

For clients looking for Honolulu accommodations this fall, Ala Moana Hotel is currently offering room rates starting at $99 per night in its Kona Tower. The property offers in-house dining options, contemporary meeting and banquet facilities, a relaxing lounge, an energetic nightclub, an expansive pool deck, a sauna and a fitness center. Centrally located, Ala Moana Hotel is close to Waikiki Beach; adjacent to Ala Moana Center, the largest open-air mall in America, across from the Hawaii Convention Center and a short stroll away from Ala Moana Beach Park.
