It’s getting easier to get around the islands,
thanks to a multi-route expansion by Island Air. The carrier is
extending its inter-island service with two new nonstop routes
connecting Maui with Lanai and Kauai.
“We are adding these new routes to serve both
Hawaii residents and tourists,” said Les Murashige, Island Air
chief operating officer. “Whether visiting family and friends,
going shopping or for vacation, these daily flights will provide
more travel options and bring destinations within easier
Beginning April 2, Island Air will increase nonstop
connections between Kahului, Maui and Lanai. The new 20-minute
flight will enhance travel options for residents of Lanai and offer
guests of Lanai’s Four Seasons Resorts a direct connection from
Kahului. Flight 340 will depart Lanai for Kahului at 11:30 a.m.,
with return flight 341 to Lanai taking off from Kahului at 12:20
Effective June 1, Island Air will operate a nonstop
flight between Lihue, Kauai and Kapalua, Maui. Flight 524 will
leave Lihue for Kapalua at 11:45 a.m., with return flight 525
departing Kapalua at 1:05 p.m.
“We continue to invest in the community of West
Maui, and the Kapalua route will give both visitors and residents a
more convenient nonstop travel option,” Murashige remarked.
One-way tickets for both new routes start as low as
$59. Bookings made at www.islandair.com will receive a 10 percent
