Guests to the Maui Ocean Center may now purchase tickets to the
aquarium before they leave for Hawaii, thanks to a new and
convenient on-line ticketing feature. By visiting
www.mauioceancenter.com, those heading to Maui are able to secure
general admission tickets at least three days in advance.
The benefit of pre-purchasing tickets is that it allows guests
to bypass the admission lines and quickly enter the aquarium. For
cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance, the center will
provide a 100% refund.
According to Molly Elmo, Sales Manager, the new process has
received high marks from Maui Ocean Center visitors. “Our guests
love the convenience of the on-line ticketing,” Elmo stated.
“There’s no voucher to print out or leave behind in the hotel room.
All they need is their ID and they’re all set!”
Elmo feels the ability to avoid potentially long lines helps
create a more relaxed visit. “We are especially busy on the few
rainy days we get here on Maui,” she explained. “So with their
pre-purchased tickets, guests can bypass the entire line and go
straight through our Express Entrance.”
Since tickets can be purchased up to three days in advance and
can be used any time that day, there’s greater flexibility with
schedules. “Especially for families, the on-line ticketing makes it
really easy to come whenever they like on the day that they’ve made
their reservations, and never have to worry about waiting in line,”
Tickets may be purchased for up to 19 people in each age
category (Child - 3-12, Adult, Senior - 65 and up). Groups that
exceed 19 guests may contact Lori Mellenbruch, Group Sales Manager,
at email@example.com or call (808) 270-7083 for group rates
and information on tour packages.
Agents will benefit with the new booking feature as well. This
spring, the center will begin to offer agents commission for
on-line bookings made for their clients. “We’re excited to be able
to offer commission to travel agents,” Elmo remarked. “We’ve always
had a close relationship with travel agents, being a unique
attraction of Maui, and I’m thrilled that we will now be able to
offer commission in this simple and convenient way.”
Agents may register at www.Agent.Hawaiifun.org or contact Elmo
at firstname.lastname@example.org. She will notify those registered once
the commission program becomes effective.
Elmo encourages agents planning to visit Maui to take advantage
of the center’s $5 travel agent rate with their IATAN card. “We
also have a toll free number, 800-350-5634, so agents can call me
directly if they have any questions,” she added. “With all these
new programs in place, I’m looking forward to maintaining close
ties with individual agents across the county. We love working with
travel agents and wholesalers to promote not only the aquarium, but
Maui as a destination.”
The mission of Maui Ocean Center is to foster understanding,
wonder and respect for Hawaii’s marine life. This state-of-the-art
aquarium was named Hawaii’s top attraction in 2004 by the Zagat
Survey US Family Travel Guide. Centrally located in oceanfront
Maalaea, the aquarium is open daily from 9:00am - 5:00pm, and from
9:00am - 6:00pm in July and August.
