On an island that continues to respond to travelers’ needs and interests, Oahu shopping is right in step. While casual wear is often where it’s at, upscale demand also makes a mark. Ala Moana Shopping Center and Halekulani Hotel have recently answered the call with the refreshing of Chanel and grand opening of Harry Winston and Vera Wang Boutique.

In January, Chanel celebrated the reopening of its newly refurbished Ala Moana Fashion Boutique and Fine Jewelry Boutique. Remaining in their same locations, both shops feature extensive renovations that have resulted in an exciting new and modern Chanel presence in Hawaii.

New to Ala Moana, world famous jeweler Harry Winston has opened a 2,500-square-foot Honolulu salon. One of the world’s most esteemed diamond jewelers, Harry Winston is among only a handful of American luxury goods brands.

“We are delighted to be here in Honolulu, the city at the crossroads of East and West, where travelers the world over can experience the world’s greatest brands,” said Golbarg Parstabar, Harry Winston vice president, Western Region and Hawaii.

Vera Wang Boutique Set To Open In February

A natural complement to the hotel that is home to the globally acclaimed Vera Wang Suite, the intimate Vera Wang Boutique at Halekulani is slated to open this month. Featuring Wang’s elegant lifestyle collections, the shop will showcase a broad range of luxury gifts representing Wang’s core design sensibilities.

With a modern and understated palette of the designer’s signature colors, the boutique will integrate the sophistication of Wang’s flagship bridal salon on Madison Avenue in New York with the discreet detailing and local accents of the acclaimed Vera Wang Suite at Halekulani.

“It is with great pleasure we announce this lifestyle extension of our innovative brand partnership with Vera Wang through her first-ever boutique at Halekulani,” said Peter Shaindlin, chief operating officer, hotels and resorts of Halekulani. “We welcome not only our international in-house guests, but also those here in Oahu to indulge in this elegant retail experience.”

“I am confident that Ms. Wang’s fashion-forward luxury goods, available only at the Halekulani boutique, will ignite a new sense of sophisticated lifestyle to our customer’s spirit and home,” added Donna Bebber, boutique owner.

Collections will include ready to wear, sun wear, fine jewelry, fragrances, fine papers, china, crystal, silver and gifts.
