Big Island hotels and resorts offer a variety of packages in 2003

Hotels along The Big Island’s Kohala Coast are heading into 2003 with value-added packages targeting an array of markets.

Kona Village Resort is promoting three-, five- and seven-night packages with various amenities. A three-night deal priced from $1,515 comes with a bottle of champagne, a line-art drawing of the client’s hale (hut) and a gift basket. A three-night package with a full day of fishing starts at $1,995. Rates at the oceanfront property include three meals daily and most resort activities. Call 800-367-5290.

At Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, the three-night Romance of Hualalai package lavishes couples with champagne on arrival, his-and-hers robes or rental car use and a Hawaiian music CD. Rates start at $1,175 per night through April 30, 2003, and reduce to $1,625 from May 1 to July 31 and Sept. 30 to Dec. 18, 2003. Four Seasons also lists spa, golf, honeymoon, room-and-car, bed-and-breakfast and family packages. Call 888-340-5662.

The Orchid at Mauna Lani, slated to become a Fairmont hotel on Dec. 17, is extending its Aloha package through 2003. Clients booking one room at the published rate get a second room of equal value for $20, or a second suite for $200. Nightly rates start at $455 for gardenview accommodations. The oceanfront resort’s golf package, priced from $299 per night, comes with two rounds of golf. The spa package, priced from $325, provides a spa amenity and two 50-minute massages. A $639 per night romance program with a three-night minimum is among Hilton Waikoloa Village’s 2003 packages. Couples get massages, one dinner and a sunset catamaran sail.

The Endless Fairway package for $419 per night provides guests with unlimited golf and use of practice facilities. The Perfecting Paradise package for $299 per night is a bed-and-breakfast promotion, while the Perfect Retreat for $459 treats clients to one fitness class or spa treatment. Call 800-445-8667.

Mauna Kea Resort, home of Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, is promoting the Body & Soul spa package priced from $449 per night. Included are a choice of fitness classes and one salon or spa treatment per person, per day. With the Unlimited Golf package, golfers can play all they want on Mauna Kea’s two courses. The package is priced from $459 per night. An unlimited tennis package priced from $449 per night covers court fees, lessons and balls. Call 866-774-6236.

Priced from $320 per night, Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows’ Experience package includes daily breakfast, use of the fitness center, snorkel gear and two massages. Pick Your Passion, with rates priced from $445, includes two coupons per night good for golf, a massage or dinner. With Family Suites, guests stay in adjoining rooms and get two passes to Camp Mauna Lani for ages 5 to 12. Rates start at $575 per night. Call 800-367-2323.
