Kapalua Resort has recently announced their 2008 signature
events. From championship golf to Hawaiian culture to an epicurean
extravaganza, Kapalua Resort will provide a variety of experiences,
including the following events that will take place through
Mercedes-Benz Championship, through Jan. 6:
The PGA TOUR returns to Kapalua Resort’s Plantation Course for
the Mercedes-Benz Championship giving golf fans a chance to witness
the country’s best professional golfers competing in the PGA TOUR’s
season-opening event. Competitors will vie for a $5.5 million purse
and the keys to a Mercedes-Benz CL550. Season passes and daily

Whale Quest Kapalua, Feb. 15-17:
Whale Quest Kapalua celebrates the return of the humpback whale.
During a three-day educational symposium, guests will have the
opportunity to learn more through a variety of seminars,
educational youth programs, whale-watching excursions, interactive
displays and art and photo exhibitions. Golf enthusiasts have the
opportunity to participate in a special charity tournament at
Kapalua Resort’s famed Plantation Course on Feb. 17. Proceeds from
the tournament will benefit non-profit research organizations
including Whale Trust, Center for Whale Studies and Hawaii Whale
Research Foundation. All events are held at The Ritz-Carlton,
Kapalua at Kapalua Resort and are free and open to the public with
the exception of the golf tournament and whale-watching tours.
The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua Celebration of the Arts Festival,
Hawaii’s culture and history are on display at the16th Annual
Kapalua Celebration of the Arts Festival, themed “Ka Mana Leo &
Power of Voice.” Guests can participate in activities including
demonstrations of authentic Hawaiian hula and chant plus hands-on
workshops in Native Hawaiian art and interaction with local Village
Gallery artists. The event’s grand finale Celebration Luau and Show
will highlight traditional Hawaiian dishes prepared by The
Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua’s chefs as well as performances by Hawaii’s

Kapalua Wine & Food Festival, June 26-29:
One of Hawaii’s longest-running and most prestigious wine and
food festival celebrates its 27th anniversary with a four-day
extravaganza hosted by master sommelier Fred Dame. The event
assembles several of the world’s famous winemakers, top master
sommeliers and renowned chefs at wine tastings, gourmet cooking
demonstrations and festive gala functions at Kapalua Resort. For

Kapalua LPGA Classic, Oct. 13-19:
The inaugural Kapalua LPGA Classic will take place on the newly
renovated Bay Course. The top women golfers in the world, including
Morgan Pressel, the youngest LPGA golfer to win a major tournament
and the resort’s official LPGA Touring Professional, will compete
in a full-field tournament for a $1.5 million purse.
