Silver Savings

Aug 15, 2009

From Oahu’s Kalakaua Avenue, the front of the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower doesn’t turn a lot of heads. Thanks to its secluded entrance, set back from the Waikiki’s main thoroughfare, clients could easily walk past it, unaware.

That element of privacy is one of many selling points for the 140-suite condominium resort, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. To honor that day, Aston officials have come up with a special treat for guests arriving in October and November 2009. The offer serves two purposes, as it provides past guests with a great excuse for a return visit, while encouraging newcomers to get acquainted with this intimate Waikiki retreat.

During the two-month period, one lucky guest who stays at the resort will receive a grand prize: a $2,500 shopping spree at Neiman Marcus, awarded as a surprise at check-in.

Every 25th registered guest will receive a custom Hawaiian koa-wood platter created by Martin and MacArthur, Hawaii’s premier fine furniture maker and a koa specialist. Valued at more than $500, the round platter comes with a stand so it can be displayed upright.

Better yet, no one goes home empty-handed during the celebration. Each traveling party arriving at the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower will receive an exclusive, handcrafted, Martin and MacArthur koa-wood wine stopper and corkscrew set.

Aston Hotels & Resorts senior vice president of sales, marketing and revenue management Shari Chang said that the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower represents the higher end of Aston’s eight properties on Oahu, which range from moderate to luxury hotels and condominium resorts.

“Our diversity of Waikiki product plays particularly well as travelers become more cost-conscious and look for better vacation values to suit their budgets,” Chang said. “With its enormous one- and two-bedroom suites, gourmet kitchens, personalized service and huge oceanfront balconies, the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower is an excellent choice for executives — whether they’re traveling alone on business or with their family — as well as for those celebrating a honeymoon or anniversary.”

A trellised garden walkway invites clients in from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki to the quiet oasis that is the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower. With 39 floors, it features only four suites per floor, enhancing privacy and limiting hallway foot traffic.

Since opening in 1984, the resort has renovated its accommodations on a regular basis. Its suites range in size from 1,080 to 1,241 square feet, much larger when compared to typical hotel rooms that average about 530 square feet. Each suite provides ocean views and kitchens stocked with all cooking utensils. Guests get twice-daily housekeeping service, nightly turndown service, complimentary high-speed Internet access and the assistance of a 24-hour hotel staff.

Unlike most lodgings in Waikiki, the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower provides its guests with free parking. Clients can play a game of billiards, unwind on the resort’s sundeck and relax in its swimming pool, jet spa and sauna. The concierge can arrange sightseeing and recreational activities and reserve a special dinner at one of the area’s many restaurants. Guests can also order a meal from room service or have the concierge arrange for a catered meal.

Located at the Diamond Head end of Waikiki, close to shopping and dining and directly across from the world-famous Waikiki Beach, the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower is one of TripAdvisor’s most highly rated properties in Honolulu. For two years running, it has been honored as an Expedia Insider Select hotel, too.

With its great track record and positive client response, the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower remains eager to welcome clients for the next 25 years with the same high standards of service.
