What do you get when you combine retro ambiance with contemporary vibe in Waikiki? Visitors and residents alike can experience the excitement on Saturday, May 13 at Waikiki By Moonlight Vintage Meets Vogue. Conceived by the Waikiki Improvement Association (WIA), the colorful free festival will showcase the very best of Waikiki’s (and Hawaii’s) alluring past and ever popular present.

From 5:30-9:30 p.m., Waikiki’s Kalakaua Avenue will be the place to witness it all.

“There will be great music, fantastic food, unique and one-of-a-kind arts and crafts, special exhibits and, appropriately, a “Vintage Meets Vogue” aloha-wear fashion show all happening on one beautiful, moonlit night in Waikiki, said Rick Egged, president of WIA.

Special highlights will include:

Stylin’ In Hawaii A fashion show of chic aloha attire created by local designers that will feature favorites from the past and present, plus a few design possibilities for the future.

Culture and Arts Skilled artisans will share their talents and showcase vintage and modern Hawaiian arts and crafts as well as collectible souvenirs.

Hawaii’s Cuisine Evolution The staples of the ancient Hawaiians will be available, as well as signature menu items from “long gone but not forgotten” Waikiki eateries and favorites of today’s best Waikiki chefs.

Hawaiian Hula And Music Concert Hula will be highlighted with kahiko (ancient) and auana (modern) performances and music that pays tribute to some of Hawaii’s living legends (and their budding contemporary counterparts).
