Families vacationing in Orlando would be smart to consider Cabana Bay Beach Resort, the new value-priced property at Universal Studios Orlando developed by Universal and Loews Hotels.
The late 1950s/early ’60s throwback hotel has a total of 900 family suites and 900 standard rooms, with rates ranging from $93 to $174 per night depending on room type, views, time of year and length of stay. With a focus on family travel, the resort’s family suites sleep up to six guests, eliminating the need for families to book multiple guestrooms.
Designed to evoke memories of beachside hotels of yesteryear, the property is retro, cool and colorful, with just a dash of kitsch. Other amenities include a 10-lane bowling alley; a 10,000-square-foot zero-entry pool with a kids play area and a dive tower waterslide; an additional 8,000-square-foot pool and lazy river; a white-sand beach; and the Hideaway Bar and Grill. The hotel also provides free bus transportation and early entry to the Universal theme parks.
“All of the amenities that we’ve packed into this hotel are perfect for an entire family,” said Russ Dagon, vice president of Universal Creative. “Cabana Bay Beach Resort was designed with family in mind, so you come here as a family, you stay together as a family and you experience the property as a family.”
