Since its inception in 1994, Castle Resorts & Hotels has billed itself as one of the fastest-growing management firms in the Pacific Basin and, this fall, it’s living up to that promise with new products for clients and agents alike.

At present, the Honolulu-based company manages 22 hotel and condominium properties in Hawaii and New Zealand. According to Castle president Alan Mattson, three common denominators — value, convenience and genuine island hospitality — factor into its success.

“Castle has earned a reputation for creating and managing quality resort experiences for its guests and partners,” Mattson said.

Castle is currently promoting the recent addition of Paki Maui, a condominium resort in Kaanapali, Maui. Comprised of 112 one- and two-bedroom suites with full kitchens and private lanais, the seaside property offers free high-speed Internet access, daily maid service, a swimming pool, a jet spa, a sun deck, a koi pond and picnic and barbecue areas.

On Hawaii Island, Castle’s Hilo Hawaiian Hotel is undergoing a $6.5 million transformation. Slated for completion in October, the project is focusing on guestrooms and suites, corridors, public restrooms and elevators.

“The restoration will pay tribute to the legendary Hilo Hawaiian Hotel while creating a contemporary icon,” said Mattson.

Meanwhile, on the island of Kauai, the Castle-managed Bull Shed Restaurant unveiled a new look  and taste in June 2013.

“Having built a 40-year reputation for the island’s finest prime rib, this oceanfront favorite now features a splashy new atmosphere with some great new flavors,” said Mattson.

A $275,000 renovation upgraded the Bull Shed’s furnishings, carpeting, lighting and wall coverings while staying true to its longtime relaxed atmosphere. The revamped menu introduced new appetizers and combination plates and an expanded list of wines from around the world.

Castle is finding continued success with its multi-faceted travel agent website, which provides agents with information about its portfolio of properties as well as incentives and rewards for supporting the Castle sales team. Travel agents can download property brochures and fact sheets, view image galleries and access a destination guide to familiarize themselves with the product and destination they are selling online. They can also book client reservations and find exclusive rates that deliver additional savings to customers and themselves.

As it approaches its 20th anniversary, Castle is thanking travel agents for their business with an incentive called “5 for $50.” Agents earn an additional $50 cash bonus paid directly by Castle for each booking of five or more consecutive nights at the following properties: Halii Kai at Waikoloa, Kona Bali Kai, Kaha Lani Resort, Kiahuna Plantation, Makahuena at Poipu, Kamaole Sands, Hokele Suites Waikiki and Waikiki Shore. The 5 for $50 initiative applies to bookings through Dec. 23.
