After forming a new partnership with FibraHotel, Marriott International expects to operate 20 new properties throughout Mexico by 2016. The hotels will be developed by FibraHotel, one of the largest hotel owners in Mexico, and proposed locations include Los Cabos, Queretaro, Cabo San Lucas and Mexico City. FibraHotel currently operates 49 hotels in the country and aims to open 100 additional properties in the coming years.

“Mexico is one of the most important markets for our company,” said Craig S. Smith, president of Latin America and the Caribbean at Marriott. “In the past five years, we have seen a strong emerging Mexican middle class eager to travel. Economists predict that by 2020, Mexico’s economy will be among the largest in the world.”
