Meet the Mini Prince

Golfing with family and friends on Kauai By: Marty Wentzel

Sometimes golfers don’t have time to play an entire 18-hole course. Other times, families and friends simply want to enjoy a few holes together. For them, Princeville Golf Club on Kauai’s North Shore has introduced a new six-hole, par-three alternative called the Mini Prince, a walking course designed for all skill levels. Carved out of the Prince Clubhouse’s 13-acre practice facility, the Mini Prince measures 424 yards, with individual holes ranging from 65 to 91 yards. Since the course only takes 30 minutes to complete, golfers can repeat it as many times as they like between its 4 p.m. opening time until closing at sunset. Rates are $15 per adult and free for golfers who have already played the 18-hole championship Prince Course the same day. Rounds are also free for juniors accompanied by a paying adult. Unaccompanied juniors ages 12-17 can give it a try for $5.
