With the upcoming openings of Courtyard Oahu North Shore and Hampton Inn & Suites on west Oahu, travel agents will soon have new ways to help their clients explore Oahu like never before.
Courtyard Oahu North Shore
Courtyard Oahu North Shore is targeting a mid-2015 opening. The 144-room property will feature an indoor pool, a fitness center, a breakfast-and-dinner restaurant and a meeting space. It’s located next to Polynesian Cultural Center, a hugely popular visitor attraction.
According to David Betham, general manager of Courtyard Oahu North Shore, the hotel will give more visitors a chance to stay on the island’s North Shore and away from the southern tourist mecca of Waikiki. Currently, the only North Shore Oahu hotel is Turtle Bay Resort.
“Travel agents have long needed a secondary hotel venue for Oahu’s North Shore,” Betham said. “Nestled under the Koolau Mountains, our little town of Laie offers proximity to beautiful beaches, outdoor sports activities, great eating places and Polynesian Cultural Center, with its great learning and entertainment opportunities.”
Hampton Inn & Suites
Meanwhile, Hawaii’s first Hampton Inn & Suites — part of the Hilton Worldwide brand — is scheduled to open in west Oahu in 2016. Part of a new regional mall called Ka Makana Alii, the 175-room hotel promises to offer its guests an affordable home base from which to explore the area’s attractions and activities.
Among west Oahu’s visitor lures are snorkel tours out of Waianae Boat Harbor, the Wet ‘n’ Wild Hawaii water park, Hawaii’s Plantation Village in Waipahu and Paradise Cove Luau at Ko Olina resort. The 23-acre Coral Crater Adventure Park, set to open in 2015 in west Oahu, will feature a family-friendly zipline course, off-road rides and a state-of-the-art climbing wall.
The new Hampton represents opportunities for travel agents as well, said Jody Mattice, director of global travel industry relations for Hilton Worldwide.
“Travel agents will be able to take advantage of Hilton Worldwide’s unique partnership with Unlimited Budget, a travel agent loyalty program that offers agents dollar rewards for qualified bookings,” Mattice said.
