The 257-room Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort, Casino & Spa in Saint Maarten has reinvented itself as an adults-only, all-inclusive resort, following extensive renovations. The all-inclusive experience now features champagne check-in, premier liquors, stocked mini bars, beach service, room service, afternoon tea and evening turndown service. The hotel has also changed its branding to “adults only,” providing a quiet, romantic environment for couples and friends traveling together.

Rooms and suites have been updated with contemporary Caribbean decor, featuring vibrant colors, revamped bathrooms and new indoor and outdoor furnishings, including teakwood tables and chairs on guestroom balconies. Each room or suite has one king-size bed or two double beds, a balcony or terrace, a flat-screen television with international channels, a clock radio with an iPod dock, a coffee maker, Wi-Fi and a hair dryer. All accommodations offer a fully stocked mini bar with soft drinks, and Ocean View rooms feature fully stocked liquor cabinets.

Personalized butler service is now a key feature of the resort, exclusively available to guests who choose to stay in the Miramar Wing’s one- or two-bedroom butler suites.

The beachfront resort has three swimming pools, a casino, meeting facilities, Wi-Fi, tennis and a certified PADI scuba dive center on property (scuba is available for an additional fee).

“We’ve introduced a new way to stay at Great Bay — an exclusive, adults-only, limitless all-inclusive,” said Armando Pizzuti, vice president of hotel operations for The Maho Group. “From the champagne check-in to our new butler service, we are here to exceed our guests’ expectations.”

The resort’s dining experiences include the newly opened Il Pescatore seafood restaurant, the beachfront Tre Assi Pizzeria — which at night transforms into Water’s Edge, a romantic Mediterranean restaurant — and the Bay View Restaurant, which was renovated with new mosaic tiles and cooking stations.
