From plumeria and pineapple to koi and cockatoos, nature abounds at Westin Maui Resort and Spa. Now clients can see and learn about the resort flora up-close courtesy of the hotel’s new botanical tour, designed to help guests connect with the aina (land). The excursion leads visitors to indigenous and introduced plants such as taro, monkeypod, bird of paradise, ti, ginger and naupaka, as well as exotic wildlife such as flamingos and macaws. Guests who can’t join the free guided tours on Wednesday mornings can view the 50 types of flora and fauna on their own, using a map available from the concierge. www.westinmaui.com
