Following a popular trend among Mexico resorts, Melia Cabo Real in Los Cabos has become all-inclusive.

“Times change and so do trends,” said Jose Gomez Callazo, general manager of the resort, which is now called Melia Cabo Real All-Inclusive Beach & Golf Resort. “Based on extensive research among our customers and travel partners, we have redesigned our marketing and operational goals to fill the existing niche for the best all-inclusive beach and golf resort in the destination with one thought in mind: To offer all of our guests the best and most fulfilling worry-free, all-inclusive vacation experience in Los Cabos.”

With the switch, Melia Cabo Real joins the roster of Sol Melia All-Inclusive Resorts, which in Mexico also includes Melia Cozumel, Melia Puerto Vallarta, Melia Azul Ixtapa and Melia Turquesa.

Melia Cabo Real is a five-star resort about 10 minutes from San Jose del Cabo, on the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. The horseshoe-shaped resort has 302 deluxe garden and ocean-view rooms and suites, each with private balcony. The resort’s atrium is known for its giant onyx pyramid, a Los Cabos landmark, and the property is surrounded by two world-class championship golf courses.

The resort has four restaurants offering both a la carte and buffet dining options: La Palapa for lunch and moonlight buffets overlooking the sea; El Quetzal for breakfast and theme dinner buffets; Las Terrazas for high-end gourmet fare; and El Mirador for poolside snacks and sandwiches.

There are three bars offering a variety of entertainment. The Lobby Bar, offering live sing-a-long piano music and a Fun Pub corner with pool table and darts, the Beach bar and a poolside swim-up bar. And the resort hosts two weekly evening shows and two theme dinners, including live musical reviews featuring professional dancers, music and contests.

New to the resort is a freestanding Kids’ Club offering activities for children ages 5 to 12. The resort has one of the largest free-form swimming pools in Los Cabos, as well as a children’s pool area, a spa, a fitness center, tennis courts and other sports, a climbing wall and a bungee trampoline. Golf lessons are available for a modest fee.

Free shuttle service is available three times daily to and from downtown Cabo San Lucas and to the adjacent golf courses.
