Vallarta in December 2002, golfers from around the world turned
their attention to Mexico’s “Golf Coast.”
The following year, golf-minded travelers flooded into Puerto
Vallarta, and resorts such as CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta
took notice. For 2004, CasaMagna is beefing up its services for
golfing guests, offering new packages that will no doubt draw on
the growing golf niche.
Last year, CasaMagna added a new “golf concierge” service, for

The 433-room resort on the Bay of Banderas is associated with
three courses nearby. The Vista Vallarta Golf Club, where the World
Cup was hosted in 2002, has two signature 18-hole courses, one
designed by Jack Nicklaus, and the other by Tom Weiskopf. And the
resort is also affiliated with the Marina Vallarta Golf Club,
across the street from the resort, with features an 18-hole course
designed by Joe Finger.
CasaMagna is offering a selection of golf packages this year.
The One-Round Golf package includes one round of golf daily for two
at any of the affiliated courses, a daily buffet breakfast,
roundtrip transfers, club storage at the hotel, cart rental, maid
gratuities and taxes, and advance tee time bookings.
Per night rates, based on double occupancy, range from $413 for
a gardenview room to $464 for a deluxe oceanview room. All rooms
have private balconies.
The packages, which are commissionable at 10 percent, are
available through April 12, 2004, and guests can reserve them for
one or more days, or combine them with other special rates for the
rest of their stay.
Located about 10 minutes from downtown Puerto Vallarta, the
oceanfront CasaMagna also has tennis courts, swimming pools, a
health club and access to plenty of water sports. It also offers a
Marriott Kids program, for children 5 to 12, offering planned
activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, as well as Friday and
