Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita Says ‘Dive In’

New Tamai pool focuses on quiet relaxation

It’s just the right time to dive in. Adding to its array of world class amenities, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita has introduced a second adult-oriented pool area. With inviting water and exclusive luxury cabanas, the Tamai (“star” in the Huichol Indian language) Pool promises quiet luxury and exclusive touches in a relaxing setting.

General manager Christian Clerc described the Tamai Pool as an experience rather than simply an amenity. “Four Seasons had the desire to create an unparalleled pool experience with the unique offering of private cabanas for guests who are seeking a relaxing, peaceful pool setting with incomparable service,” he explained. And according to guest feedback, the resort has succeeded.

Surrounded by lush foliage, Tamai Pool offers a secluded setting for lounging outdoors. Complementing the main L-shaped pool is a half-moon shaped whirlpool, selection of sunny or shaded lounge chairs and cascading water feature. Soothing music, both above and below the water, adds to the relaxed ambiance.

Geared toward adults, the pool’s amenities include a selection of complimentary magazines, and creative food and beverage menus. Guests can also participate in a variety of complimentary low-impact fitness activities poolside, including yoga, pilates and meditation.

“Tamai provides a balance and an option to the popular main pool,” Clerc explained. “The main pool is full of activity where families and friends gather for a day of frolicking and fun. The Tamai pool is quiet, a respite, a place to withdraw and reflect. And at night, it’s romantic and private. We now have a setting that can serve whatever mood or experience our guests are seeking.”

For the ultimate poolside experience, Tamai Pool features 10 exclusive cabanas private retreats creating a luxurious break from the sun. Accommodating up to four guests each, the butler-staffed cabanas feature such special touches as a daybed, plasma television, DVD player, iPod, Bose Wave sound, high-speed and wireless internet access, direct-dial telephone line and individual mini-bars stocked with complimentary non-alcoholic beverages.

A private area outside each cabana includes two chaise lounges. Rental ranges from $150-300 daily, depending on the season.

New Luxurious Hideaway The Arena Suite

Premiering later this year, the Arena Suite is modeled after a traditional Mexican hacienda and appropriately named for the Spanish word “sand.” Its prime location right on Punta Mita’s white sand beach unfolds to unparalleled views of the lapping surf, Mexican sunsets and in-season whale watching.

Set apart in its own private compound, Arena’s five-bedroom layout includes a Royal Suite, Superior Beachfront Suite and three connecting bedrooms. A large living room, dining room and pantry with private access make it ideal for large families or as a hideaway for private gatherings. Arena Suite reservations will be accepted beginning Feb. 15.

Located within the 1,500-acre master-planned Punta Mita Resort development some 45 minutes northwest of Puerto Vallarta International Airport, Four Seasons Punta Mita includes 114 guest rooms and 26 suites housed in 13 quaint Mexican-style casitas. Amenities include tennis courts, 18-hole championship golf course, full-service Apuane Spa, three restaurants, Kids For All Seasons program and a cultural center.
