Karmina Palace adds reiki to spa menu

The 324-suite Karmina Palace in Manzanillo kicked off the new year with the latest new age addition to its full service spa the cleansing therapy of reiki.

Reiki is based upon the channeling of fundamental universal energy. In the process, the healing power gives harmonic balance to the recipient’s energetic centers or chakras. Priced at $65 U.S., the 50-minute treatment involves a therapist to guide energy to help a person achieve balance and inner peace.

“Reiki is one of those emerging holistic therapies that has attracted a lot of mainstream interest in the spa world in recent years,” explained Marcos Casillas, General Manager of the all-inclusive property. “So we wanted to offer guests an added element of a treatment that addresses not just physical aspects of wellness but also spiritual and psychological.”

Casillas noted that interest in the reiki has been good. “Most people who vacation at Karmina Palace are not seeking a total spa resort, but having a well-rounded and interesting spa menu with some unusual treatments such as the reiki and the hot stone massage has given people the chance to branch out and try something new.”

Karmina Palace’s complete spa is open from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on weekends. It offers an assortment of massages, wraps, fango and facials, as well as special packages for hotel guests and outside visitors.

Another recent addition to Karmina’s spa menu is a hot stone massage treatment. The process involves a penetrating deep massage with water-heated obsidian stones applied to key body points to relax muscles and allow intense manipulation. The 80-minute session is $85.

The spa also features a fitness center with a variety of Cybex cardio equipment and free weights. An on-staff personal trainer helps guests craft individualized workout regimes they can continue even after they return home. The facility features separate his and hers change areas with secure lockers, showers and steam rooms for unwinding after a tough workout.

“As I said, Karmina Palace is not a spa resort first and foremost,” Casillas reiterated. “But the fact that we offer a wide range of spa therapies means that people who are on vacation and unexpectedly find themselves craving a massage or special treatment have that option. The spa offers yet another important vacation element that moms and dads can slip away to when kids are busy with their friends.”

Additional Poolside Antenna Boosts Wireless Internet Signal

In December, Karmina Palace introduced an antenna to the outdoor area of eight interconnected pools flowing over three levels throughout the tropical landscape of the 10-acre property.

Now, the wireless internet signal is stronger than ever, making poolside and beachfront surfing of the online kind faster and easier than before. Service is complimentary to all Karmina Palace guests and available through a login password given out at the concierge desk. Guests can also surf the net from the property’s three restaurant areas, meeting facilities, lobby and most guest rooms.

“Wireless internet is a part of daily life now, and we’re committed to being ahead of the competition by offering it at no extra charge,” explained Casillas. “Not many other Mexican resorts offer this service, so we are leaders in this field. Now guests can have a seamless vacation with all the perks of home, and they get the extra satisfaction knowing it’s completely free.”

The all-inclusive Karmina Palace features nightly entertainment, 24-hour room service, unlimited food and beverages, and a full-service spa (extra charge applies).
